Dele Momodu, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his concern over the state of Nigeria's economy under President Bola Tinubu's leadership.
In an open letter to the President, Momodu lamented that the economy has "virtually collapsed" and urged Tinubu to address the issue with urgency.
Momodu criticized the President's spending habits, describing them as "reckless" and "wasteful". He specifically highlighted the purchase of private jets, construction of monuments, and distribution of palliatives as examples of unnecessary expenditures.
The veteran journalist argued that these actions are indicative of a failed administration and called on Tinubu to exercise frugality in governance.
Momodu emphasized that curbing excessive spending would free up resources for meaningful development, urging the President to prioritize economic recovery.
His letter, posted on Facebook, served as a clarion call for prudent management of Nigeria's resources and a renewed focus on economic growth.
