Nigeria's U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, departed the country on Tuesday for Togo, where they will defend their title at the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
The team traveled from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, comprising a 20-man squad, coaching crew, backroom staff, and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials.
After completing their final preparations at the Remo Stars training complex in Ikenne, the Flying Eagles are set to face stiff competition in Group B. They will square off against Burkina Faso and Cote d'Ivoire.
Led by Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles will begin their campaign against Burkina Faso on Friday at the Municipal Stadium in Lome. The match kicks off at 3 pm local time.
As defending champions, the Flying Eagles will seek to retain their title and assert their dominance in the region. With a strong squad and thorough preparation, the team is poised to make a lasting impact in the tournament.
